Game Overview:
Death Stranding 2 is an open world action-adventure game developed by Kojima Productions and published by Sony.
It was announced at The Game Awards in December 2022.
Elle Fanning, who'll be part of Death Stranding 2's star-studded cast, has been tld by Hideo Kojima that the game will continue to push the envelope on a technical level.
"We will be using new techniques that were not used in the previous game," Hideo Kojima says about the upcoming sequel.
Death Stranding 2 might not have an official release date yet, but an artist's online profile has indicated that the game is coming out some time in 2024.
Kojima has stated that the character of Lea Seydoux—Fragile—will have an important role to play in the upcoming Death Stranding 2.

"When something takes place that nobody thought was possible, works of fiction written before it become less effective as entertainment," says Kojima.
Hideo Kojima says that thanks to improvements in technology, "things that were impossible before are now possible."
Actor Darren Jacobs, who voiced the character in the first game, said in now-deleted tweets that he won't be back for the sequel.
Troy Baker, Lea Seydoux, and Norman Reedus return. The sequel is coming to PS5 and seems to take place years later with strange things afoot.
The recent Twitter activity of a Kojima Productions producer seems to imply that the project currently being teased is a Death Stranding sequel.
Also mentioned are an open world game from Sumo Digital, a survival horror title by Firesprite, and a Returnal PC port.
As per a new report, Stadia boss Phil Harrison ended up cancelling the project following initial approval due to its single player-only nature.
Actor Norman Reedus recently slip that work on a Death Stranding sequel is underway, and Hideo Kojima seems to have responded with a cryptic tweet.
In a recent interview, Reedus said, "We just started part two of that" while also discussing how he first met Hideo Kojima and got the role.
The actor has suggested that a second Death Stranding game is happening, and that it is currently in the negotiation stages.
Hideo Kojima might have a few more ideas for this new universe he's created.
It all makes sense if you really, really (really) think about it.
