Game Overview:
Silent Hill 2 is a survival horror game developed by Bloober Team and published by Konami.
It is a ground-up remake of the 2001 game of the same name.
"If creators from around the world who love Silent Hill bring us their pitches, I promise to look through every one of them," says Motoi Okamoto.
Silent Hill series producer Motoi Okamoto sees the Polish developer as "very hard workers who are full of love for Silent Hill.”
Silent Hill 2 lead producer Maciej Głomb and Bloober Team's head of production Kacper Michalski speak with GamingBolt about the studio's upcoming releases.
"Visuals were always Bloober Team’s upper hand and I’m sure this will continue to be the case with the Silent Hill 2 remake," says lead producer Maciej Głomb.
The Polish studio is at work on a remake of Silent Hill 2, though that might not be the end of it where its partnership with Konami is concerned.
"The fact that they chose us was both a great distinction and a massive motivation boost," says the upcoming remake's lead producer Maciej Głomb.
Bloober Team says Ito and Yamaoka – both veterans of the Silent Hill franchise – have been quite involved with the upcoming remake's development.
"We are aware of the Resident Evil 2 remake's resounding success, and we are aware that the game is considered a benchmark on how to release a game anew after a long break," says Maciej Głomb.
Anything introduced by Bloober Team is first consulted with Konami since it wants the remake "to be as close as it can to the classic Silent Hill 2."
The remake has been in development since 2019, but when it launches is going to be entirely up to Konami, the developer says.
"We approach working on the remake with such great care and respect for the original game," the developer says.
Bloober Team and Konami's survival horror remake is looking like a giant technological leap over the 2001 original.
Speaking to people "close to the project," journalist Imran Khan says Konami has been "pretty good" at choosing partners.
3D audio is also supported on the console, and "superfast data streaming" ensures players can explore the town seamlessly.
Bloober Team's Mateusz Lenart says the remake will feature the "best facial expressions" in the series' history due to state-of-the-art motion capture.
A Core i7-8700K or Ryzen 5 3600X, an RTX 2080 or Radeon 6800XT, and 16 GB RAM are needed to run at Medium quality in 60 FPS or High quality in 30 FPS.
The long-rumoured Silent Hill 2 remake has been officially announced. Developed by Bloober Team, it will release for PS5 and PC.
A new report reiterates that a Bloober Team-developed Silent Hill 2 remake will be announced later today, with Akira Yamaoka and Masahiro Ito also involved.
Metadata for today's Silent Hill Transmission spills the beans on upcoming announcements. The show will be nearly 50 minutes long.
Christophe Gans, who is also directing the upcoming reboot, says several teams are working on the series with a "big line of games."
Leaks surrounding Silent Hill's long-rumoured revival are intensifying once again, with images from two of its three alleged projects having emerged again.
Previous leaks have claimed that a Silent Hill 2 remake is in development at Bloober Team, being one of three Silent Hill projects in the works across different studios.
"We will make an announcement about our future projects as soon as we can. So then you will know much more. Officially."
A new report now claims that multiple Silent Hill games tackling different genres are in production across several studios.
"Multiple" Silent Hill projects are reportedly in development, including a new mainline entry and side "stories" as per insider NateTheHate.
