Hogwarts Legacy launches last month for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC, with its PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch versions having been pushed back prior to its release– though as it turns out, those waiting to play the open world action RPG on last-gen consoles are going to have to wait a little longer.
Previously set to launch on April 4, the game’s last-gen versions have now been pushed back to May 5. The same was announced by developer Avalanche Software in a recently published tweet. “The team is working hard to deliver the best possible experience on all platforms and we need more time to do this,” the announcement reads.
The Nintendo Switch version is still expected to launch on July 25, as previously announced.
WB Games announced last month that Hogwarts Legacy sold over 12 million copies worldwide in its first two weeks, raking in over $850 million in revenue. Developer Avalanche Software previously said that there were no plans for DLC or expansions, but has since indicated that those plans might be being held back until the game is out on all platforms.
In our review of the game, we awarded it a score of 8/10, saying, “Everyone will have to make their own choice on whether or not to engage with Hogwarts Legacy, but if you do choose to play it, you’ll find it to be a well-made and densely packed open world action RPG that adapts the Wizarding World universe in excellent ways.” Read the full review through here.
