Xbox Responds To PlayStation’s Cross-Platform Announcement In The Most Amazing Way Possible

Nice to see the big boys having a sense of humour.

Microsoft and Nintendo have been outspoken about their support for cross-platform play in recent months, while the former has also been quite outspoken about Sony’s lack of support for the same. Recently, though, after months of refusing to join the party, Sony announced that they’d be bringing down the walls on the PS4, as Fortnite enters cross-platform beta on the system (being the first, but not the last game to do so).

People have been understandably happy about this decision, which not only means great things for Fortnite, but for cross-platform play across all games in general. Microsoft, being one of the biggest supporters of cross-play in recent years, are similarly happy, and Xbox’s official UK twitter account put up an amusing tweet in response to Sony’s announcement, suggesting that Marvel’s epic crossover shenanigans have got nothing on what’s coming for Fortnite players across all the systems the game is on.

Beyond Fortnite, you can expect to see several other games have cross-play functionalities across all systems as well. For instance, even though it’s not a priority for Bethesda right now, Fallout 76 might have cross-play eventually as well.
