Ubisoft have released their latest financial report, for the financial quarter that just ended on June 3, and while there’s a lot of information there for us to sort through and report on, one thing that instantly stands out is Ubisoft’s breakdown of their product sales by platform.
It appears as though, yet again, Ubisoft saw most of their software sales come from the PlayStation 4, with nearly a third of their games sold on that platform. Interestingly for Ubisoft, especially given how historically antagonistic they were towards the platform, the PC is now their second most valuable platform in terms of the sales breakdown, with Xbox One trailing behind in third place.
It also looks like Ubisoft are still making a good amount of money from the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, and Wii U- put together, the four systems account for nearly 8% of their total sales, which is nothing to sneeze at, after all.
It’ll be interesting to see how the platform breakdown changes once the PS4 Neo, Xbox One Scorpio, and the NX have all launched. We’ll know by the end of 2017 how things stand by then.
