The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt Will Feature 100 Hours of Gameplay – New Screenshots and Details Revealed

Talk about a next generation experience. In the midst of hyping its future game Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt RED had revealed that the sequel for one of their more-loved franchises would be releasing soon. This turned out to be The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, which will feature hero Geralt traveling to the chilly Skellige Islands. Today, the developer has revealed new screenshots and concept art for the game which are as sumptuous as they are surprising.

Adam Badowski, head of CD Projekt RED stated that, “The Witcher 3 is full of impactful decisions, and gamers will choose between storylines that exclude one another in a single playthrough, ensuring extensive replay value. The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt crowns the trilogy with the main narrative, revolving around Geralt’s search for his loved ones and his conflict with the Wild Hunt.

“As players travel through the game, they visit lands with their own unique atmosphere, communities and memorable characters. CD Projekt RED didn’t create an open world with a singular theme, but concentrated on delivering diversified and engaging environments, 30 times larger than those in The Witcher 2.”

How many hours of gameplay are you looked at, taking into account all the side-quests and the nonlinearity presented by your choices with each successive playthrough? For the main quest, about 50 hours. Add 50 hours more for the side stories, and you’re looking at a whopping 100 hours of game time.

Insanely enough, the new set of screenshots are from an earlier version of the game. The developer is currently working on a new renderer which will be featured in the final release.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is currently slated to release in 2014 for PC and PlayStation 4, though it is billed as arriving on “all high-end platforms”.
