Combat and Story Tips:
The combat in the game is tough but you can always scale the difficulty up and down by going into the options menu. Try and loot as much as you can alchemy and crafting. A blacksmith/armourer can do wonders for your armor and weapons but it all depends on your mastery skill. The Witcher sense is not only useful to track down people but it also highlights stuff that can be picked up.
Try and use runes to upgrade weapons and glyphs to enhance armour. If you are serious about monster hunting, try and make sure you keep Monster trophies equipped at all times. Food is free and heals you, so try and collect as much as you can.
Some monsters only come out in day or night. So plan accordingly. Nearby points of interest will be marked on your map. Some side quests are dependent on the main missions so if you complete all of them you may not be able to complete some of the side quests.
The controls can be tricky so make sure you memorize them. The choices you make in the game will have a major impact so make sure you choose wisely, as they also effect side quests. Grey dialogue options are just used for gathering information, dark grey ones advance the conversation, and yellow ones advance the chat.
The best way to make combat a bit easier is to invest your skill points into signs. Make sure you try and fight on a horse back, this will increase the strength of the attacks. Make sure you always reference the bestiary, as every enemy has a weak point. Dodge when possible but aggressive play is rewarded with damage increasing adrenaline. The axii sign can reduce your horse’s fear level. Holding down attack on horseback makes the cameras move in slow motion, making it easier to hit your target.
Character Development Tips:
Try and find places of power as they grant one ability point. Try and find all of them. Use the locations guide below for the same. Try unlocking smaller skills first but it’s best to invest in a single group as much as possible. Mutagens paired with active skills, grouped by colour, are very effective. Buy Potions of Clearance whenever possible as they allow you to reallocate misspent skill points.
Exploration:
First of all, spend as much money as possible on your horse’s equipment. This will make your mount faster. If you are taking the sea route, beware, as sea monsters can take your ship down. Your horse can gallop down the road automatically.
Fastest Way To Make Money:
Complete as many secondary quests as you can. Try and take up Witcher contracts as they offer rewards. Sell useless items but they won’t fetch you much money. Try and find Smuggler’s Caches as these contain treasure or money. Monsters often protect treasures and as you can guess, there is a tone of it. These battles are tough but the rewards are even bigger.
Unlimited Money:
In order to earn unlimited money, you need to be in the town of Midscope in the White Orchard area. This will happen when you are pursuing the “Hunting A Witch” Main Quest. Now before you go through the Woesong Bridge, jump towards the livestock fence into the green pastures. There you will see some animals. Kill them all. Now mediate at the same spot for 2 hours, the animals will respawn. Kill the animals again. Repeat and rinse. Now you can sell those animal hides to a Merchant for a price. You can keep going this doing and earn money.
Another way is to buy all the shells and sea shells from the Merchant at Hierarch Square in Novigrad. Exit and talk to the guy again and for some reason he will have all the shells again. Buy as much as you can. Now go to Velen and go to the armorer and dismantle the shells to get the pearls. Sell the pearls. Medidate for 5 days and the armorer will once again have 1000 coins again. Rinse and repeat.

Get A Novigrad Pass:
There are a few ways to get a Novigrad pass. The first one will require some money, around 50-100 crowns. You need to talk to the guards let me know you need a pass to board near the bridge. You will then be awarded a quest from the Merchant. This quest is called Fake Papers. This pass may be a fake but it works.
The second way is probably longer. In the story mode, right after you finish Baron’s quest, he will give you the pass to enter Novigrad.
