We recently spoke to Peter Gelencser, Senior Level Designer over at CD Projekt RED about the upcoming next-generation open world RPG, namely The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt. The game will be heading straight to the PS4, Xbox One and PC, and while we’ve heard about the SmartGlass and Kinect integration the game offers, we were curious about whether the PS4 version would support features such as the touchpad on the DualShock 4 controller.

“I think a lot of things like that are being considered. I can’t really say anything specific on that. I mean, we’re experimenting a lot of things, because with the new hardware, the next gen consoles are offering a lot of things which we are very happy about because of the possibilities. So let’s use them if we can. But again, story first, game first. We’re not going to waste our time into something that does not serve the purpose of the story and your experience.”

Such a response sounds similar to DICE, which stated that it wouldn’t add any motion controller support to Battlefield 4 if it was just a gimmick before announcing Kinect support later. Will it be the same with The Witcher 3, which launches in Spring 2014? Stay tuned.
