After relentless leaks and rumours, Sony has now officially unveiled the revamped PlayStation Plus service, which, in addition to absorbing PS Now, will also be offering several other benefits to subscribers across three tiers when it rolls out this June. The highlight of these benefits is a catalog of over 700 games- over 300 of these will be legacy PS1, PS2, PS3, and PSP titles (with PS3 titles only being available via cloud streaming), with around 400 being games from the PS4 and PS5’s libraries.
Details on what games exactly will fall into both those categories aren’t yet known, but Sony has given us a brief taste of what to expect where the PS4/PS5 catalog is concerned. Sony has confirmed that the lineup will include titles such as Death Stranding, God of War, Marvel’s Spider-Man, Marvel’s Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Mortal Kombat 11, and Returnal.
Sony adds, “We’re working closely with our imaginative developers from PlayStation Studios and third-party partners to include some of the best gaming experiences available with a library that will be regularly refreshed. More details to come on the games we’ll have on our new PlayStation Plus service.”
The catalog of PS4 and PS5 titles will be accessible to PlayStation Plus Extra subscribers, which will cost $14.99 monthly / $39.99 quarterly / $99.99 yearly. Stay tuned for more details.
