Since Nintendo announced the sequel to The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, there have been very few updates on the game or when it might release. Recently, however, when Nerea Alfonso and Marcel Navarro – the Spanish voice actors for Zelda and Revali respectively – reportedly said that their work on the game’s dub was done, hopes for the game being closer to launch than expected went up.
It seems, however, that those previous reports may not have been correct after all. As explained by GameXplain in a new video, the previous quotes were mistranslated, and Alfonso and Navarro never actually confirmed that their work on the game was done. In fact, it seems the tone of their conversation was one of humour, with the two voice actors talking about the strict restrictions on what they can say about the game, to the extent that they’re not yet even allowed to say whether they are even working on it.
The Spanish dub being done would have been a pretty big deal, since that’s something that is usually only done towards the end of games’ development cycles. Seeing as Nintendo have been almost completely silent about Breath of the Wild 2 for over a year, it’s logical that the game might not be that far along in development.
