Falcom’s The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki is on track to release this year, with the developer confirming a release date of August 27th in Japan. This is according to the latest Weekly Famitsu issue. New information was also provided about combat.

There’s a new technique called Variant Age, which can be used if five or more party members are present, and stimulates HP and BP recovery while dealing tons of damage. It’s built up by destroying objects while out on the field and can be used three to four times in one battle. Interestingly, depending on the number of “participants” (which can go up to 10), the effect will be more powerful.

The Legend of Heroes: Hajimari no Kiseki is in development exclusively for PS4. Though a new beginning in its own right, it will eventually lead to the entire series’ conclusion. While no Western release date has been confirmed, Falcom has announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel 4 will release for PS4 this Fall in the West, completing the Erebonian arc for English-speaking players at last.
