Following the delay of Starfield and Redfall, Microsoft’s remaining Xbox line-up for the year is looking a bit barren. We’ll see if that’s actually the case when the Xbox and Bethesda Games Showcase takes place on June 12th. Sony could be poised to reveal its own big announcements sooner…but there’s also the possibility that it could happen much later.
On the latest episode of GB Decides, VentureBeat’s Jeff Grubb talked about the console manufacturer potentially having a show in the first week of June. This was heard from “multiple people” but it couldn’t be confirmed. “I’m hearing from a bunch of different people and maybe that’s just scuttlebutt. I can’t confirm that so I’m not putting it on the Game Mess list.”
It’s worth noting that after the podcast, Grubb tweeted about hearing that “nothing will happen until September.” Things behind the scenes may still be in flux so take all of this with a grain of salt.
A new digital showcase from Sony in the coming months is more or less a given though. How soon it will take place, whether it will be a State of Play or full-blown PlayStation Showcase with lots of announcements, also remains to be seen. Time will tell, especially since God of War: Ragnarok is still on track to release this year as per SIE Santa Monica. Stay tuned for more details until then.
I've also heard nothing will happen until September. The more pessimistic rumors never get put in era threads, though. https://t.co/a5QEOCDbLF
