The long-awaited next instalment in the Skate series has been in the works for a couple of years at this point, but other than the fact that it’s in development, very little has been said about the game until now. Recently, it was reported that playtesting for the game – which is being called simply skate. – is set to kick off soon, suggesting that it had made some notable progress in production. Now, it seems we have tangible proof of that progress.
Pre-alpha gameplay footage of skate. has emerged online, and was recently shared on Twitter by journalist Jeff Grubb. According to Grubb, developer Full Circle is focused on “trying to get the feel right”, and that’s precisely what this leaked gameplay seems to suggest.
Visually, it’s abundantly apparently that this is still relatively early development footage, but the focus seems to be on movement, tricks, and animations. According to known insider Tom Henderson, the map this leaked gameplay is set in is called “Fun City”. Check out the clip below.
Gameplay details on skate. are scant right now, but a behind-the-scenes development video has suggested that the game will feature an open world setting, while EA has also said that user-created content is going to be an important part of the experience.
Earlier this year, reports claimed that the development of skate. was progressing much faster than expected, but there’s no official word yet on when the game will launch, or what platforms it will target.
This is Skate 4 pre-alpha footage. This is in line with what I've heard about where the game is at from multiple people. They're trying to get the feel right, which is probably the most important aspect of a Skate game. https://t.co/AXNV2Agk6z pic.twitter.com/nUINhghxLg

It's actually called "Fun City" not "Fun Town"
Hoping to have a lot more on the game soon.
If you've played it, the DMs are open.
