Silent Hill’s Official Domain Lapsed and Then Got Hijacked by Someone

Konami was a bit too late with renewing its ownership of the official Silent Hill domain, and someone else seems to have beaten them to it.

Silent Hill isn’t exactly in the best shape of its life right now. Amidst a bevy of leaks and rumours over the last couple of years, the series itself has remained as dormant as it’s ever been over the last decade, and Konami, it seems, hasn’t been keeping up with all of its behind-the-scenes maintenance.

As recently spotted by a Neogaf user, the official Silent Hill domain lapsed, and before Konami could make a move to renew its ownership, someone else seemingly beat them to it. Silenthill.com now heads directly to a page that, funnily enough, shows nothing but a screenshot of a recent tweet by Silent Hill artist Masahiro Ito, in which he is lamenting ever having created the iconic monstrosity known as Pyramid Head.

As bizarrely funny as the situation is, it’s also all the indication you need of how behind Konami is when it comes to taking care of its beloved properties in even the most fundamental ways. Recent leaks have linked what feels like every developer under the sun with Silent Hill revival, but developments like these don’t exactly inspire a lot of confidence.
