Monster Hunter Rise

Monster Hunter Rise is introducing plenty of interesting new mechanics to the series, including the canine companions known as Palamute and new tools to put a greater emphasis on verticality and scaling. Now, another interesting new mechanic may have been revealed.

Over on Reddit, user PracticalBrush12, who originally leaked Monster Hunter Rise and several details accurately before the game was announced, states that the game will no longer allow you to mount monsters. Instead, you will be able to ride them. After sheathing your weapon, you will be able to manually get on top of monsters and take control of them during combat, and will be able to attack, slam, dodge, and more.

Given the leaker’s track record, there’s a real chance that this is accurate information, though as with any leak, take this with a grain of salt for now (even though it does sound plausible). Capcom will be revealing new details on the game in a stream later today, so we will likely find out sooner rather than later.

Monster Hunter Rise is due out for the Switch on March 26. Leaks have suggested that its Switch exclusivity will end after six months, following which the game will also launch for PC.
