The Yakuza series has several sequels coming up, with Ryū ga Gotoku Ishin! being remade as Like a Dragon: Ishin! Set in the Bakumatsu part of the Late Edo era, players control Sakamoto Ryoma as he joins the Shinsengumi to find the murderer of his mentor. A new demo was available at Twitchcon San Diego 2022, and IGN has gameplay footage.
It showcases Night Mode, where players can run into more battles and boss fights. At this point in the story, Ryoma goes to capture the mysterious Okada Izo, who has already killed several captains in the Shinsengumi. The various Cards are also showcased, with Ryoma unleashing energy blasts, palm strikes, and a black hole to trap enemies.
Like a Dragon: Ishin! is out on February 21st, 2023, for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC. For more gameplay of the various activities and mini-games, head here. You can also check out the extensive cast here.
