Battling bosses in Hi-Fi Rush can be challenging, especially with a low life bar and reverb gauge. Enemies get stronger with every level, and without the right upgrades, you’ll struggle a lot more than usual when it comes to taking them out. Fortunately, you can increase both your reverb gauge and life bar and prepare yourself to face those challenges head on.

How to increase Max Health in Hi-Fi Rush

There are a bunch of ways you can use to increase Chai’s max health, such as:

  • Buy one from the store – You can buy a whole life gauge from the store. Speak to Peppermint at the end of the first stage to unlock the store. Once you can gain access, you can buy an entire life bar for 10,000 gears.
  • Get the Health Tank – The Health Tank is a unique item and while it costs 50,000 gears, it’s quite useful. The item stores Chai’s extra energy for emergencies. Once his health is fully depleted, the Health Tank will completely refill his life gauge. It’s basically coming back from the dead.
  • Collect Life Gauges – During the playthrough, you’ll come across Life Gauges all throughout the game. Collecting all four restores Chai’s power core, while also increasing his health.

How to increase your Reverb Gauge in Hi-Fi Rush

The Reverb Gauge allows you to perform more powerful special attacks, which are required to defeat bosses on higher difficulties. There are two ways to increase your Reverb Gauge. You can either buy it or collect the pieces, like you did with the health bar. Here are the details:

  • Buying Reverb Gauges from Peppermint – You can buy a total of 3 Reverb Gauge upgrades from Peppermint. The fist one costs 10,000 Gears, the second 25,000 Gears and the third one will set you back a whopping 50,000 Gears.
  • Collect Reverb Core Pieces – As for Reverb Cores, you can collect a total of 12 throughout the campaign. For every four Cores you collect, you’ll be able to combine them and increase your Reverb Gauge by one level.
