Fortnite’s Holiday Event Returns Next Week

14 Days of Fortnite will see a short return to make up for a blunder with its previous end date.

Epic Games’ “14 Days of Fortnite” event for Fortnite, which played out through the holidays, faced some scrutiny when the developer posted the wrong date for its conclusion. While the Equalizer Glider reward has been doled out to players as compensation (as long as they completed at least one event challenge), the developer is going a step further. It has announced that 14 Days of Fortnite will return next week.

In an official post, Epic Games stated, “We communicated an incorrect end date for the 14 Days of Fortnite event and did not feel the Equalizer Glider compensation was the right approach. After further discussion, we’ve decided to bring back this event early next week through January 15 at 3 am ET (0800 UTC). We’ll also be enabling some of the most popular Limited Time Modes that were available during the event.”

“Players who were unable to complete those Challenges will be able to earn all of the rewards they may have initially missed out on. All Challenges will be available to complete for the entire duration of the event. Unfortunately, progress on partially completed challenges has to be reset.”

While the overall amount of time to earn rewards from the event has been shortened, it’s more of an opportunity to earn any leftover rewards than anything else. Furthermore, those who have completed one of the event’s challenges so far can still receive the Equalizer Glider for free. Even though they did mess up with the original ending date, the steps taken by Epic to make up for that are pretty great. Stay tuned for more information on an official start date in the coming days.
