Fortnite Was The Most Searched For Game on Google in 2018

Meanwhile, Spider-Man, Smash Bros., and Pokemon are nowhere to be seen in the top 10.

Fortnite Battle Royale

Did you think Red Dead Redemption 2 would be the most looked up game on Google in 2018? Maybe Call of Duty: Black Ops 4? Perhaps Spider-Man, or maybe Super Smash Bros. Ultimate? How about Pokemon Let’s Go, Pikachu! and Let’s Go, Eevee!? God of War? Assassin’s Creed Odyssey? FIFA 19, Madden NFL 19, NBA 2K19?

None of those were. Rather, the most searched for game on Google in 2018, per Google Trends, was Fortnite. This shouldn’t of course be surprising to anyone, given just how much of a cultural phenomenon Fortnite is. Red Dead, however, made second place, while surprisingly enough, Fallout 76 was in third place- which actually makes sense, because for good reasons or for bad, that game has been in the news a lot. The rest of the top ten is comprised of Monster Hunter World, Assassin’s Creed Odyssey, God of War, Sea of Thieves, Far Cry 5, Kingdom Come: Deliverance, and Call of Duty: Black oOs 4 (not in order).

Yes, Smash, Pokemon, and Spider-Man don’t even make the top ten, go figure.
