Fortnite The End

Just when you think Epic Games’ Fortnite is faltering, it comes back to break records. Season 10 recently saw its conclusion with The End event. However, what makes this different is that everything was sucked into a black hole, to the point where nothing remains. Except for said black hole, which viewers on Twitch and YouTube are now watching. You can play a neat minigame on the screen using the Konami Code though.

Unsurprisingly, the sheer game-changing nature of this event drew a large number of viewers. According to esports journalist Rod Breslau on Twitter, Fortnite had 1.5 million viewers (which later hit 1.6 million) on Twitch and 4.3 million viewers on YouTube concurrently. That’s almost 6 million concurrent viewers, a new record for sure.

What’s next for Fortnite? Recent leaks from the Italian App Store indicate that the game will restart as Fortnite: Chapter 2, complete with a brand new map. Expect Season 11 to start around then as well with new cosmetics, mechanics and much more added to the game. Stay tuned in the meantime – that black hole isn’t going anywhere just yet.
