Fortnite

The world’s most popular game continues to get more and more popular. Epic Games has confirmed that their veritable battle royale sensation Fortnite has crossed 125 million player worldwide- a staggering number that put it within kissing distance of Minecraft, a game that took years to reach that spot. Fortnite managed it within months.

The game’s success is undoubtedly fueled by the fact that it is free to play, and available on practically everything- in fact, it was made available on everything as soon as was possible. It launched on Xbox One, PS4, and PC last year, pivoted quickly from being a survival game to being a battle royale one, then came out on iOS, with an Android version due, and launched on the Nintendo Switch yesterday- meaning no one is left out.

Of course, given Epic’s exceptional support for the game, as well as the zeitgeist surrounding it, it is unlikely that Fortnite is going to slow down any time soon. Expect it to continue making and breaking records in the months to come.
