Fortnite Battle Royale

The amount of success Fortnite is bringing Epic Games is unbelievably ridiculous. Recently it came to light that Fortnite’s iOS version was netting Epic a revenue of $2 million every single day, and now we’re hearing even more about just how well the game’s mobile version is doing.

With just 138 days on the App Store (that’s less than five months), Fortnite’s iOS version has crossed 100 million downloads, according to data accumulated by Apptopia. While that’s still not nearly as impressive as how quickly Super Mario Run and Pokemon Go crossed that landmark (68 days and 71 days respectively), that’s still ridiculously quick. Additionally, in just May and June alone, the game was played for a total of 2.7 billion hours, with an average play session being being 21.6 minutes, which is higher than Pokemon Go’s 14.8 minutes.

By comparison, Apptopia predicts PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds will not be hitting 100 million iOS downloads for at least another 206 days. Fortnite, on the other hand, has seen plenty of revenue coming in from its in-app purchases too, having crossed IAP revenue of $160 million since mid-March, while also being projected to hit $500 million in that area by April of next year.

And the game’s not even out on Android yet! Imagine how wildly successful it will become (even more so than it is right now) when it finally does. And there’s a chance that that might happen soon, too. Truly, Fortnite’s commercial success knows no bounds, and it’s obviously doing Epic Games a lot of good. Recently, we learned that thanks to the battle royale title’s success, their net worth has gone up to roughly $8 billion. That’s astounding.
