Since it was first revealed, it’s been clear the Motive Studio and EA’s upcoming remake of Dead Space is going be quite a significant overhaul of the original in more ways than one, and to provided a clearer look of that, IGN has uploaded a video that compares various scenes in the original and the remake. Check it out below.

The jump forward being made in the remake is impressive to see, with improvements and changes being showcased in several ways, including cutscenes having been altered, the visuals looking drastically improved, and of course, protagonist Isaac Clarke now being fully voiced, unlike the original.

Several cutscenes are showcased in the video from the earlier hours of the game that now play out a little differently, including the scene where Isaac walks up to a workbench to first obtain the plasma cutter. Instead of simply picking it up from the table, in the remake, Isaac now crafts it himself manually using parts that he finds on the workbench.

Earlier this year, creative director Roman Campos-Oriola talked about how the Dead Space remake takes cues from 2019’s Resident Evil 2 in terms of how it’s approaching the original title. Read more on that through here.

Dead Space launches on January 27 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC.
