Motive Studios’ Dead Space remake is making significant progress towards its release next year. In May, it talked about hitting alpha during the Art Developer Livestream. In a new tweet, the studio confirmed that alpha was hit a few weeks ago. Development is most likely in the beta stage, which means it’s on track.
The Dead Space remake offers several big improvements over the original, updated environments and objects while incorporating dynamic volumetric lighting. New atmospheric VFX in HDR, changes to weapon sounds like the Plasma Cutter and Plasma Rifle, and much more have also been done. Gameplay-wise, it features revamped Zero-G sections, a new dismemberment system, and other improvements.
The Dead Space remake releases on January 27th, 2023 for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC. It will support 3D audio on both consoles and have zero loading screens. Also, unlike the controversial Dead Space 3, there won’t be any microtransactions. Stay tuned for more details and hopefully some new gameplay in the coming months.
