The Lord of the Rings: Gollum Gets New Story Trailer Showing off Middle-earth

Check out the newest story trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which shows off Middle-earth in all of its glory.

Publisher Nacon and developer Daedalic Entertainment have released a new story trailer for The Lord of the Rings: Gollum. As the trailer’s title would imply, rather than focusing on showing off gameplay, it instead focuses on the game’s story.

Going by the trailer, The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will largely take place during the early chapters of The Fellowship of the Ring, with both the forces of good as well as evil being on the lookout for Gollum.

Fans of The Lord of the Rings will also seemingly have several characters to look forward to, including Gandalf, and even some later characters from the books, like the monstrous spider Shelob.

The trailer also gives us a glimpse at the game’s rendition of some of the most iconic places from The Lord of the Rings, including idyllic Elven forests, rolling plains, dark dungeons, and even Mordor itself.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum still doesn’t have a solid release date aside from a vague 2023 release window. The game was originally slated for release on September 1, 2022, but had since been delayed to this year.

A Nacon financial report from January reveals that The Lord of the Rings: Gollum is slated for release in the first half of the fiscal year 2023-24, which puts its release some time between April 1 and September 31.

The Lord of the Rings: Gollum will be coming to PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch.
