Tchia Gameplay Video Highlights Fully Playable Ukulele Mechanic

Developer Awaceb details Tchia's fully playable ukulele and what role it will play in the open world title's story and gameplay.

Tchia continues to look more and more promising with each of its new showings. Ahead of its launch later this month, developer Awaceb has revealed plenty of details on the game, and while exploring its open world with robust traversal mechanics (like Soul-jumping) will form the backbone of the experience, the game will have a musical side for players to dive into as well.

In a new gameplay video, Awaceb has shined a light on that, detailing the fully playable ukulele in the game. The ukulele will play a role in both story and gameplay, and where the latter is concerned, will enable additional abilities in traversal and combat. Parts of the story will also see the titular protagonist whipping out her instrument to form bonds with other characters through a rhythm-based mechanic- though this will be purely optional, and a fully automatic mode will be available for those who don’t want to engage in the manual one.

Meanwhile, a free jam mode will also be featured for players who want to strum away of their own accord, with various options and features included to provide a full-fledged ukulele experience. At its core, the mechanics are looking quite similar to the sections of The Last of Us Part 2 that allow players to play the guitar. Check out the video below for more details.

Tchia is out on March 21 for PS5, PS4, and PC.
