Starfield Launches September 6, Showcase Set for June 11

Bethesda has delayed Starfield out of its H1 2023 launch window, confirming that the sci-fi RPG will now launch in September.

Fans have been keenly awaiting word on Starfield and when it will launch for some time now, and after having confirmed earlier in the year that a standalone showcase dedicated to the game was in the works, Bethesda has announced when that showcase will arrive- and when the game itself will launch.

Starfield was previously given a launch window for sometime in the first half of 2023, though as leaks have previously claimed, it’s been pushed out of that window, and is now set to launch in September (nearly a year on from its original release date of November 2022).

Meanwhile, the showcase – or Starfield Direct, as Bethesda is calling it – is set for June 11, with director Todd Howard having shared a message about the same, while also providing on the game and its development.

“We have poured ourselves into this game and even I’m surprised how much we can pour,” he says. “It is large. We’re playing the game all the time.”

“This June, we’re gonna bring you into the studio and give you a deep dive on the game at our Starfield Direct,” Howard adds. “There’s so much that we still have to show you. The game has many of the hallmarks that you’d expect from us, but it’s also a very unique experience.”

Starfield will launch for Xbox Series X/S and PC on September 6.
