Resident Evil 4 Remake Day-One Patch Will Adjust Rain Effects

Producer Hirabayashi Yoshiaki confirmed seeing "everyone's reaction" to the rain effects and promised "adjustments" at launch.

Among the many releases this year, Capcom’s remake of Resident Evil 4 is one of the biggest. However, if there’s one thing that fans have found fault with thus far, it’s the rain effects seen in the Chapter 5 gameplay walkthrough. They didn’t look the best, and there was concern over whether the development team could fix them in time

Thankfully, producer Hirabayashi Yoshiaki told Press-Start, “We’ve seen everyone’s reaction to the rain effects, and we are working on a day-one patch to make adjustments.” Whether they’ll be less intense or look better remains to be seen, so temper those expectations.

Resident Evil 4 remake launches on March 24th for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. A demo is coming before launch, and could potentially drop after the Capcom Spotlight showcase on March 9th. Recent gameplay has showcased differences between Salazar Castle and the fight with Jack Krauser, as the latter relies on the new parry mechanics instead of QTEs.
