Sons of the Forest Sold Over 2 Million Copies in First 24 Hours of Early Access Launch

Survival horror game Sons of the Forest has seen quite a bit of success in just the first 24 hours after its early access release.

Sons of the Forest developer Endnight Games has revealed that since the game’s recent early access release on PC, it has been quite successful. The studio announced on Twitter that over 2 million copies of Sons of the Forest have been sold in the first 24 hours of its release.

The success should not be surprising to those paying attention, since the game’s launch earlier this week instantly led to a peak concurrent player count of over 350,000 players on Steam. For the sake of comparison, its predecessor—The Forest—hit an all-time peak of 76,226 players in October 2022.

Sons of the Forest is a survival horror game that takes place on an island filled with cannibals and mutants. In their efforts to find a missing billionaire, players will have to scavenge, build, and craft tools and weapons to defend themselves against the hostile forces.

Sons of the Forest is currently only available on PC.
