Like most open world games, there are multiple endings in Hogwarts Legacy, and every one of them is beautifully crafted to reflect the overall sentiment and ambiance of the story. You can play like a saint or an evil warlord, and none of your decisions will affect the outcome. However, the ending you get is decided by a single choice at the end. There is also a secret ending, which we will also be discussing towards the end. Ready to delve into the secrets of Hogwarts Legacy? Let’s begin!
Major Spoilers Ahead.
Approaching the point-of-no-return
You can unlock the good and bad endings by completing the main story mission, “Final Repository.”
In the end, you must answer Professor Fig’s question, and the dialogue you choose determines the ending. You’ll have to lock in these dialogues before the final boss battle, so choose carefully because you cannot change the outcome once you begin the fight.
Is it possible to save Professor fig in either of the endings?
You should also note that the Professor dies at the end of both endings. You cannot save him either way, so simply proceed with the choice.
How to get the Good Ending in Hogwarts Legacy
You unlock the good ending by choosing to contain the Ancient Magic in the Repository and carry the secret forever. The professor will admire you for this decision. He will also stay by your side when you inevitably attempt to seal the Magic as its chosen Keeper. Pick the following dialogues to trigger the good ending:
Questions | Answers |
---|---|
“What do you intend to do with it?” | “I intend to keep it contained here.” (First Choice) |
“The Keeper wanted this secret to be locked away forever. How long will you keep it?” | “I shall keep it a secret forever.” (Second Choice) |
How to get the Bad Ending in Hogwarts Legacy
The bad ending, as you guessed, is the opposite of the first choice. To get this ending, you’ll have to choose to open the Repository and release the Ancient Magic into the world. The Professor will be worried about how this decision might affect your future. Pick the following dialogues to trigger the bad ending:
Questions | Answers |
---|---|
“What do you intend to do with it?” | “I intend to open it.” (First Choice) |
“After everything you’ve seen? What about Isidora’s fate?” | “This power should not be kept from the world.” (Second Choice) |
How to get the secret ending in Hogwarts Legacy
Getting the true/secret ending is a bit of a challenge, as you have to complete several tasks in order to unlock it. After picking either of the two normal endings (good or bad), you’ll see a cutscene followed by a notification regarding the upcoming O.W.L. exams. Now here is the list of all the tasks that you need to finish in order to unlock the secret ending.
- Reach Level 34.
- Finish all the remaining quests.
- Finish all the remaining puzzles.
- Finish all relationship storylines.
- Complete Weasley’s Watchful Eye Main quest.
