Getting new upgrades in Atomic Heart is rewarding. They make you feel more powerful and let you access late game content without the lingering fear of dying every so often. However, farming the resources to unlock those skills is not always fun and entertaining. But if you’re someone who likes to plough through enemy hordes, this guide will be a dream come true for you. This guide reveals a simple way that’ll help you farm all the resources you’ll ever need, along with several other resources (medical packs, biomaterials, superconductors, etc.). Let’s begin!
How to Prepare yourself to farm infinite resources and unlock more upgrades
You won’t need a bunch of resources to start the farm. Only two upgrades will do the job, but having a few more will make the process a lot easier. What makes this technique so useful is that you can use it right out of the training area in Testing Grounds 1. Follow these steps to prepare yourself:
Walk up to a computer and choose Polymer upgrades, please.
Reset the skill tree or return a few of them, so that you have enough polymer to buy the upgrades you’ll need for this method.
Go to Mass Telekinesis, and install the base Mass Telekinesis skill followed by Forced Fall Acceleration.
If you have left-over Neuropolymer then go ahead and install Amplified Modulator, Barotrauma, Increased Power and finally Neuro-Polymer Accelerator. These skills are not necessary but they will make it easier for you to execute this method.
How to get resources quickly in Atomic Heart
Once you have all the necessary skills, head to Testing Grounds 1 and head to one of the red cameras. It’s marked on the map with a red wave icon surrounded by a red circle. It’s just beside the road, close to a set of stairs.
This spot is ideal because when the cargo bots bring the box, they drop it in two places. The place where you’re currently standing (if you’ve followed the institutions correctly) is the most common location. So if you just stand there, the robots will keep bringing crates to your location. You can easily destroy the bots with the Mass Telekinesis ability and farm them for easy loot.
Kill an enemy as soon as they arrive in order to raise the alarm to level 2 which will bring in more enemies.
It deals damage if it lands on top of you so stay clear. Once it opens, use telekinesis to grab all of the enemies and slam them onto the ground. If the drop doesn’t kill them right away, get close, melee them, get back back and repeat the process.
Note: Remember to stay within the red surveillance light’s field of vision. Otherwise, it will de-aggro and stop bringing in reinforcements.
Tips to help you farm resources efficiently in Atomic Heart and unlock more upgrades
Reset alert level – The alert level rises the longer you remain under the surveillance light. If the waves become too difficult to handle, simply get out of its vision and destroy the remaining enemies to reset the alert level to 1.
Remember to gather everything – Use your scanner to pick up all the material lying around. The battlefield rapidly gets littered with enemy corpses. The longer you stay, the harder it becomes to see through all the carnage and salvage the loot. Using the scanner saves you a lot of time since you know the exact location of the loot.
Remember to save – These are gimmicks and history shows us that they tend to bug out quite often. So always remember to save your game after each farming session so your loot is safe and secure even if the game crashes.
Collect healing items – You’ll loot more meds than you can use, so staying alive isn’t too difficult. However, practice your movement skills; it’ll come in handy during the later stages of the game.
Use your abilities – Use Mass Telekinesis as often as possible. Handling multiple enemies can be difficult especially if it’s your first time. The Forced Fall Acceleration is one of the most overpowered abilities in the game, so use it as soon as it comes off cooldown.
Get more upgrades – You can increase the efficiency at which you farm the resources by getting more upgrades. Visit the upgrade panel and install Electrization, Power Amplifier, Amplifier Modulator, Chain Lightning, Extended Topology, and Resistor Malfunction from the Shok The order doesn’t matter, but improving your crowd-control capabilities will get you better results than increasing your damage.
You should also get Polymeric Shield to improve your defensive capabilities in case of accidental attacks. Cell Division also lets you heal more efficiently and will come in handy as you’ll have a surplus of medical supplies from the fallen enemies.
