The next big free-to-play Call of Duty battle royale experience is launching for PC, PlayStation, and Xbox on November 16.
Other additions include persistent Prestige progression, several new weapons, a new Spec Ops mission, and more.
Activision says the new Battle Pass system will allow players to have "more choices and more agency than ever before."
The battle royale shooter will go offline on November 16 upon the launch of Warzone 2.0, before relaunching as Warzone Caldera later in the month.
However, Bloomberg's Jason Schreier re-affirms this is a paid expansion for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, which is "supposed to have lots of content."
Activision and Infinity Ward's newest shooter is continuing to break sales records, and is the fastest-selling Call of Duty game to date.
Activision will be unveiling the next Call of Duty battle royale experience and the new extraction-based mode later this week.
Updates to weapon balance will be revealed ahead of Season 1. It goes live along with Warzone 2.0 and DMZ on November 16th.
Ranked play will bring competitive modes, ranked skill divisions, expanded leaderboards and rewards, and much more.
Bayonetta 3 sells over 41,000 units in its first week, Star Ocean: The Divine Force sells over 44,000, and Call of Duty sells over 42,000.
Infinity Ward's sequel now has the top-selling opening weekend for the franchise, along with new records for unique players and hours played.
"As long as there is a PlayStation out there to ship to, our intent is that we continue to ship Call of Duty on PlayStation," says Phil Spencer.
Developed by Infinity Ward, the sequel to Modern Warfare (2019) is currently available for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, and PC.
Modern Warfare 2 is the series' biggest launch in the region since its 2019 predecessor, while Bayonetta 3's physical launch sales are marginally better than Bayonetta 2's.
Modern Warfare 2 doesn’t live up to its name in most ways, but by focusing on what worked best from the Modern Warfare era, it delivers a solid, well-rounded COD experience.
The crashes affect those with more than five attachments tuned. Those with a tuned attachment will have to unequip and equip it again to use it.
An amusing misprint has seen the shooter's physical Xbox copies in Canada call Call of Duty the best-selling franchise on PlayStation.
"Microsoft in its role in the tech industry, is a large tech company, and I do think the discussion around an acquisition of this size is warranted," says Phil Spencer.
Meanwhile, PS4 and PS5 players can choose to play only with each other instead of dealing with potential cheaters on PC.
Tweaks have been made to lighting and contrast to improve enemy visibility, while teammate footstep audio has been reduced.
